Protect a roof worth preserving. The Coating Man® offers roof restoration and protective coating options for commercial, industrial and eligible residential properties, with preparation and product selection built around the actual roof.

THREE MANUFACTURERS. A PROPERTY-SPECIFIC PLAN.
Compare the right roof coating options.
A roof restoration membrane, a corrosion-resistant metal finish and a heat-reflective coating are different solutions. We explain the purpose of the proposed system before you approve the work.
GAF
LIQUID-APPLIED ROOF RESTORATION
Acrylic and silicone roof coating systems
We offer GAF roof coating options, including the Premium Acrylic HydroStop® System and eligible silicone systems. HydroStop combines its base coat, reinforcing fabric and top coat to form a liquid-applied roof membrane. The selected system must be compatible with the existing roof and its condition.
Roof qualification and adhesion evaluation
Specified primers, reinforcement and detail treatments
System-specific application and inspection requirements
We offer Tnemec coating options for eligible metal roofs. Tnemec documents metal-roof applications using compatible primers and Fluoronar® fluoropolymer finishes, including Series 1072. We evaluate the metal, corrosion, existing coating and exposure before specifying the primer and finish system.
Preparation matched to the metal and existing finish
We offer TEX-COTE® REFLECT-TEC®, a field-applied heat-reflective coating system for eligible metal and tile roof surfaces. Its Kynar® resin and reflective pigments support solar reflectance, color retention and resistance to dirt pickup. Surface condition, approved primers and the selected color guide the recommendation.
Metal and tile compatibility assessed first
Smooth finish and manufacturer color options
Reflective performance considered for the property
We review the roof material, slope, drainage, existing finish, visible wear and repair needs. Adhesion evaluation and moisture assessment help determine whether the substrate can support the specified system.
Active leaks, wet insulation, loose components, failed seams and damaged substrates need attention before coating. A finish coat is not a substitute for repairing the roof assembly.
What we evaluate
Low-slope roofs with compatible, sound existing assemblies
Metal panels, fasteners, seams and areas of corrosion
Eligible tile roofs and the condition of their underlying assembly
Drains, curbs, flashings and rooftop equipment penetrations
Existing coatings, adhesion and manufacturer compatibility
Access, weather windows and occupied-property requirements
PREPARATION DETERMINES THE PLAN
From assessment to a documented coating system.
01
Assess the roof
Document the roof type, condition, approximate area, drainage and project goals. Identify testing and repairs needed to qualify the roof.
02
Prepare and repair
Define cleaning, repair limits, corrosion treatment, compatible primers and seam or penetration detailing for the selected system.
03
Apply the specified system
Follow the manufacturer's requirements for coating components, coverage, film thickness, drying and application conditions.
04
Review and maintain
Review the completed scope, applicable inspection records, written warranty terms and maintenance requirements. Keep drains and roof details in the maintenance plan.
A CLEARER PROPOSAL
Know what your roof coating quote includes.
The written scope identifies the areas included, preparation, repair allowances, primer and finish products, application requirements, access and scheduling assumptions. Roof coating cost depends on more than square footage; difficult access, damaged details and extensive repairs can change the work substantially.
A material warranty covers the coating product under its written terms; a workmanship warranty addresses installation under its separate terms. Your proposal identifies any available coverage, its duration, exclusions, registration requirements and maintenance responsibilities. Confirm these details before approving the project.
Color choices depend on the selected product, roof material and complete coating system. Review physical samples before choosing; screen colors can differ from the finished coating. Solar reflectance describes how much sunlight the surface reflects rather than absorbs. Reflectivity varies by product and color. Actual energy savings depend on the climate, insulation, building use and heating and cooling equipment.
Manufacturer links open in a new tab. Literature describes product performance; your proposal identifies the complete system, application requirements and coverage that apply to your roof.
NATIONAL BRAND. LOCAL PROJECT PLANNING.
Roof coating inquiries across our active service states.
Share the property ZIP code to confirm roof coating availability, access and local scheduling.
Include the property location, roof material, approximate size and any known leaks or previous coatings. For commercial or industrial work, tell us about operating hours, access restrictions and your preferred completion window.
We will review the request, confirm local availability and discuss the assessment needed to prepare a written roof coating proposal.
A coating can be an alternative for a sound roof that qualifies for the selected system. It cannot restore rotten decking, saturated insulation, structural damage or a roof that has reached the end of its useful life. The assessment identifies repairs and whether coating or replacement is the appropriate next step.
What is the difference between acrylic and silicone roof coatings?+
These are different coating chemistries with different preparation, application and maintenance requirements. We compare the manufacturer-approved systems against the roof material, existing finish, drainage and project goals. A product choice is made after the roof is evaluated, not from its color or price alone.
Can you coat a metal roof?+
Yes, we evaluate metal roofs for compatible coating systems. Loose fasteners, corrosion, seams, penetrations and failed existing finishes must be addressed. GAF restoration systems, Tnemec protective finishes and TEX-COTE® REFLECT-TEC® serve different purposes, so the written proposal identifies the complete system and its intended performance.
Is REFLECT-TEC® suitable for tile roofs?+
TEX-COTE identifies REFLECT-TEC® for eligible metal and tile roof surfaces. Tile condition, existing finishes, adhesion, primer requirements and the underlying roof assembly are reviewed before recommending it. A reflective finish does not repair broken tiles or a failed underlying waterproofing assembly.
Will a reflective roof coating lower my energy bills?+
Reflective coatings can reduce solar heat absorbed by the roof surface. Actual cooling-cost effects depend on the product and color, climate, insulation, building use and HVAC system. We do not promise a fixed temperature reduction or a percentage of energy savings for every property.
What affects the price and warranty?+
Roof area, material, condition, repairs, access, preparation, detail work and the specified coating thickness affect the price. Warranty availability and coverage depend on the selected manufacturer system, project eligibility and written terms. The proposal separates material coverage, workmanship, exclusions and maintenance responsibilities.
